About Lord Dennis Stevenson

Lord Stevenson of Coddenham CBE spent the first 20 years post university as a serial entrepreneur; then for 15 years chaired large companies (Pearson plc, GPA plc and HBOS plc); now reverted to entrepreneurial roots mainly through direct investing and a VC company, Loudwater Investment Partners. He also set up three years ago what is thought to be the only large scale conventional VC company in a very poor country (Sierra Leone... then judged to be the poorest country in the world by the World Bank).

He is also a Non Executive Director of The Western Union Company and The Economist.

He is Chairman of Aldeburgh Music, a Director of Glyndebourne Productions and, until recently, was Chancellor of the University of the Arts London. He was Chairman of the Trustees of the Tate Gallery in the 90s and has recently stood down after eight years as Chairman of the House of Lords Appointments Commission. He has been a member of the House of Lords for about ten years.
