About Ann Cotton

Ann Cotton is the Founder and Executive Director of Camfed International. Camfed (Campaign for Female Education) was established to secure the education of girls and economic empowerment of young women in Africa as fundamental strategies for rural regeneration. In seventeen years, Camfed has grown to become a global leader in its field of international development. In 2009, Camfed supported the education of over one million children and young people.

Ann has received many honours that include an Honorary Doctorate in Law from the University of Cambridge and an OBE. Awards include UK Social Entrepreneur of the Year, and both the Skoll and Schwab Awards for Social Entrepreneurship.
